The Misfits are a NY/NJ Punk Rock Band founded in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey by singer songwriter Glen Danzig. They are often recognized as the progenitors of the punk subgenre, blending punk rock, horror, and other musical influences, with film themes, and imagery. The original  lineup consisted of the fierce guitar strumming of Franche` Coma, along with the heart pounding drums of Mr. Jim, with the throbbing bass of Jerry Only and the ear rattling vocals of Glen Danzig.The band split up in 1983.
